Such remedies are quite effective in treating stomach pain and other symptoms caused by common conditions like indigestion and food poisoning, inexpensive, and usually don’t cause any side effects.

Indigestion is common among adults and can occur as often as every day. It is also known as dyspepsia and can cause a feeling of fullness especially after a meal and pain in the upper abdomen. A person with dyspepsia may also experience some nausea and bloating. Indigestion is usually caused by digestive tract conditions such as peptic ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and pancreatic problems but it can also occur without a definite cause.

Food poisoning is another common cause of stomach pain. It is usually mild in form and can produce symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and abdominal cramping. The symptoms appear within 48 hours after ingestion of contaminated food or drink. Food poisoning can be deadly depending on the contaminant and can lead to dehydration, bloody stools, and damage to the nervous system.

Honey has long been touted for its many beneficial properties. The potency of the properties of honey depends on the bee’s floral source and one of the types of honey believed to have high potency is the Manuka honey.
